Teddy Draper, Jr. is acknowleged as one
of the premier Navajo realist artists today. He was part of the
"Gallup realists" - known for introducing realism into Navajo art, and
has continued to develop and refine his technique with pastels known as
the "Draper technique." He has dedicated much of his career to
the pastel medium. He is also an accomplished
jewelry-maker. In addition to his art, he also teaches art,
and is owner/director of the DeChelly Gallery. His works have
won
awards nationally and are collected internationally.
