Quincy Tahoma (Navajo)
Traditional painter.

Quincy Tahoma (b. 1920, d. 1956) was one of the more progressive traditional Indian artists of the 20th century.  A student of Dorothy Dunn's Studio, his works captured Navajo life and culture with vivid color and motion.  Although his tragically short left prevented him from becoming a prolific painter, he was quite profound.  He has had a tremendous impact on both contemporary and traditional Indian art today.  His works have been exhibited in numerous institutions, including the Smithsonian Institute (Washington, DC), the Philbrook Museum Museum (Tulsa, OK), the National Cowboy Hall of Fame (Oklahoma City, OK) and the Museum of New Mexico (Santa Fe, NM).

The Gallery has a very limited number of original paintings by Quincy Tahoma.
