Redwing T. Nez is a highly accomplished contemporary painter.  His works capture modern reservation life of the Navajo in exquisite detail.  He is also well known for his paintings of Plains Indian life.  He is a diversified talent, excelling at impressionism and realism.  Although he has a background in traditional sand art, he studied art formally at Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff.  His works have won numerous awards, and have been published extensively (including a profile article in Southwest Art magazine).  He has illustrated two books on American Indian culture.  He also performed the role of a Sioux warrior in the film "Dances With Wolves."
