Art Menchego is the foremost Santa Ana pueblo painter.  He specializes in realism, with Indians and the native fauna as his primary subjects.  He was chosen as an artist for the "Trail of Painted Ponies" project, and his painted horse is on permanent display at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort (where a large mural of his is also displayed).  His work has been widely published, and has won numerous awards.
