Milland Lomakema, Sr. is one of the more important contemporary Hopi painters.  As a member of the Artists Hopid, he was instrumental in refining contemporary Hopi art.  This famed group of artists (also including Neil David, Terrance Talaswaima, Delbridge Honanie, and Michael Kabotie) painted contemporary interpretations of traditional Hopi designs and iconography, and were among the most important transitional artists of the 20th century.   His works are included in such noted museum collections as the Arizona State Museum (Tucson, AZ).
