As a part of the initial class of the Institute of American Indian Arts (Santa Fe, NM) during the early sixties, King Kuka maintains a critical place in the definition and evolution of contemporary Indian art. He is known for ethereal impressionist works, as well as contemporary embossed pictographs. In addition to his accomplishments as a painter, he is also a published poet. His works are included in such noted museum collections as the Deutches Museum (Munich, Germany), and The Vatican (Rome, Italy). |
