Justino Herrera was a highly acclaimed
traditional
painter of Cochiti Pueblo. He was very highly respected for his
paintings
of traditional Cochiti dancers, which he started painting at the Santa
Fe Indian School in 1937. His works are included in such noted
institutional
collections as the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of American
Art (Washington, D.C.), and the Philbrook Museum (Tulsa, OK).
