Irving Toddy (Navajo)
Contemporary painter

Irving Toddy is an important contemporary Navajo painter.  Although he is the son of famed traditional painter, Beatien Yazz, he is known for his realistic style of painting.  He also paints pictographs.  He and his brothers (Calvin and Marvin Toddy) have been instrumental in the transition of Navajo painting, from the traditional, two-dimensional style to the modern realist style.  His works have illustrated books on Navajo life and culture, including "Cheyenne Again," "D Is For Drum" and "Desert Digits."   His works have been collected worldwide, and represented in several noted institutions..

The Gallery has a limited number of original paintings by Irving Toddy.
