Robert Chee was a highly prolific and influential painter during his relatively short lifetime. He studied the traditional, flat-style of painting under Allan Houser, and became one of the more important post-WWII traditional painters of the southwest. His works are included in such noted museum collections as the Smithsonian Institute (Washington, DC), and the Southwest Museum (Los Angeles, CA). His line drawings are also the subject of the book: “The Navajo – Robert Chee”. |
