Sherman Chaddlesone  (Kiowa)
Contemporary and traditional painter.

Sherman Chaddlesone is widely respected as both a traditional and contemporary artist.  His pictographs capture the history of the Kiowa with amazing detail and accuracy, while his contemporary paintings capture a highly introspective view of the modern Indian experience.  A student of tradition master Allan Houser, and contemporary master Fritz Scholder, Sherman is considered one of the most versatile Indian artists today.  A lecture series has been created in his name at the University of Central Oklahoma.  His works are included in such noted museum collections as the Museum of New Mexico (Santa Fe, NM), and the United States Embassy (Lima, Peru).

The Gallery has several paintings and drawings by Sherman Chaddlesone.
