Acee Blue Eagle (b. 1909, d. 1959) was a 20th century cultural icon among American Indians.   He briefly studied under Dr. Oscar Jacobson at the University of Oklahoma, and went on to establish the Indian art program at Bacone College.  He would later author children's books, and host a children's television program in Tulsa.  His works have always been among the most sought after in the Indian art world.  He placed works in the permanent collections of President Franklin Roosevelt, King Gustav of Sweden, King Alfonso of Spain, and Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia.  His works are included in numerous museum collections, including the Museum of New Mexico (Santa Fe, NM), the Eiteljorg Museum (Indianapolis, IN) and the Gilcrease Museum of Art (Tulsa, OK).
