Traditional painter.

Woodrow Big Bow (b. 1914, d. 1988) was one of the more diverse of the early southern plains painters.  He was well known and respected for his traditional painting, but also worked as a set painter for western movies.  He also designed the thunderbird insignia for the Oklahoma 45th Infantry Division, and completed murals at the RCA Building (New York, NY) and the Southwest Museum (Los Angeles). His works are included in such noted museum collections as the Smithsonian Institute (Washington, DC), the Wichita Art Museum (Wichita, KS) and the Gilcrease Museum of Art (Tulsa, OK).

The Gallery has a limited number of paintings by Woody Big Bow.
